What Is the Significance of Increased Epithelial Cells in Urine?
Cells routinely tested for urine include red blood cells, white blood cells, and epithelial cells. In normal urine, a small amount of epithelial cells can be seen. Epithelial cells can be seen in each high-power field of the centrifuged urine under a microscope, which is still normal.
Urine routine epithelial cells
- Flat
- In normal human urine, a few epithelial cells are sometimes found. If there is glomerulonephritis, the epithelial cells in the urine will increase, if there are lesions in the renal tubules, many epithelial cells may appear, and sometimes there are many vaginal secretions mixed into the urine.
- If the value of epithelial cells is high only during routine urine tests, and the values of urinary protein and red blood cells are normal, there should be no major problems. Pay attention to regular inspections. [1]
