How can I test the memory test on my computer?

Every computer has a place that stores programs to be used later, known as a random access memory (RAM). RAM can be found on small rectangular chips that slip into the slots on the motherboard. Like any other equipment, memory can fail. MEMTEST procedure is the first step to perform a memory test on a computer. That is why the memory test needs to be performed regularly to ensure that the memory is good. If the memory chip should fail, it can prevent your system from introducing or starting.

When performing a memory test, you will find that most computers have a memory tester built into the base system of the PC input output (BIOS). BIOS is also on a chip known as memory only for reading (ROM). You can access the BIOS using the Settings program. This program is usually accessible by F1, F2, Delete or Ctrl, ALT, Enter Keys, depending on the type of system you have.

When you turn on your computer, the BIOS automatically launches the Tester program and scans RAM. This is also referred to as the Memtest procedure. When MEMTEST is completed, the computer can turn on once or twice to warn of problems, and an error code has appeared on the screen. If there are no problems, the startup process continues until the operating system is loaded and the area is not reached.

Memory

memory is always tested in this way, but diagnostic utility programs are available, which can be more aggressive in performing the memory test. On the Internet you will find many PC testing and diagnostic usefulness. Some of them are free while others cost money.

If you download one of these programs, it is best to burn the program on a bootable CD or DVD and restart your computer, keep a CD or DVD in the player. When your computer is restarted, CD or DVD starts and starts the program. Most programs will perform diagnostic procedures thatEré is aggressively testing computer memory. The program will read and write RAM several times to make sure RAM can hold the data. If there are no problems, the program does not report any errors and will return the control back to you so that you can remove and restart your computer or PC continues your startup process.

During the memory test, if the chip is found defective, the program stops and reports its findings. At that time you will need to replace the defective chip. If I do not know the defective chip, you may need to replace one chip at the same time until you find defective.
