How do I upgrade RAM?
When a computer runs slowly, it probably needs more memory or RAM. Computers are sold with approximately a quarter of a computer RAM they can support. Upgrading a computer RAM can be made by a newcomer because it does not require any technical knowledge. Everything needed is the RAM module, specific to your computer, antistatic bracelet and screwdriver.
The first step in upgrading the RAM is to find out what type of module is needed and then buy it. You can learn what type of computer RAM you need to look into a computer manual. If you no longer have manual at hand, you can check online on key or kingston websites.
turn off the computer and disconnect the main power supply. Use a non -magnetic screwdriver to release the screws and open the computer case. Although it is not guaranteed that this happens, the magnetic screwdriver can destroy the sensitive components of the computer. It is not worth the risk. If the screw is attracted by the tip of the screwdriver, it is magnetic.
Before installing computer RAM, you will have to ground your wrist antistatic strap. This prevents any static electricity you produce, discharge and damage to computer circuits. Wrap the antistatic wrist around the wrist and connect the other end to the computer case. Antistatic wrist straps are sold in any store that sells computer components.
Check a computer manual or key or kingston website to determine the order in which RAM can be filled in because the order varies according to the computer brand. If it is inserted in the wrong order, the computer may not recognize the added RAM. If you need to remove the RAM module, push down on the clips located on each side of the socket.
Hold the new RAM module at the thin edges. Hold the clips on the sides of the modular drawers and insert a computer ram by aligning the indentation on the module with thePouring on the socket. Push the RAM module until it rests.
Replace the cover on the computer case. Connect the computer to the electrical outlet and turn it on. If the new computer RAM is installed correctly, it will register on the monitor. If this has not been recognized, you will need to enter the CMOS settings and tell your computer what you want to look for. This is done by monitoring challenges that appear on the screen.
