What is CPU transistor?

The transistor is a semiconductor device that switches and amplifies electronic signals. It has at least three terminals that connect them to the electronic circuit. The transistor was invented in the early 1950s and quickly replaced vacuum tubes in electronic devices. These devices are now an essential part of almost all electronic devices, such as the central processing unit (CPU) of the computer. The CPU transistor is usually part of an integrated circuit, although it can also be purchased individually.

Terminals in the CPU transistor have specific names depending on the type of transistor. Terminals of simple bipolar transistor are called collector, emitter and base. The current or voltage that is applied to the base affects the current flow from the collector to the emitter.

The voltage at the transistor base can be used to turn the current from the collector to the emitter. This type of transistor is the switch is a common type of CPU transistor called a logical gate. The switch generallyIt does not allow to flow through the current unless the voltage is above the minimum threshold. The voltage on the base is controlled by other components in the circuit.

CPU transistor can also be amplifier. This type of transistor uses the voltage on the base to control the amount of current flowing through the amplifier. This means that a low voltage change on the base can cause a large difference in the voltage between the collector and the emitter.

transistors provide significant advantages over vacuum tubes on computers. The CPU transistor is much smaller than the equivalent of the vacuum tube, allowing computers to miniaturization. The production of transistors can be automated to a greater extent than the production of vacuum pipes, which means that transistors are cheaper than vacuumthrough.

The first patent on the transistor was submitted by Julius Edgar Lilienfeld in 1925, although he did not actually endure such a device. Herbert Matare discovered semiconductor effects forEven working on the Doppler Radar System in 1942. Then the technology proceeded and in 1947 at work at Bell Labs at & T's Bell Labs, Walter Brattain and John Bardeen found that the Germany crystal could intensify electric current. Gordon Teal built the first silicone transistor for Texas Instruments in 1954 and CPU Transistor, which is a transistor of metal oxide oxide (MOS), was first built in Bell Labs in 1960.
