What is the Ethernet Firewire® adapter?

Firewire® Ethernet is a type of computer bus. It is able to send signals formatted firewire® via Ethernet cable or category 5 (CAT5) to another FireWire® adapter. Another name for the Firewire® Ethernet adapter is the Firewire® Cat5 repeater.

The firewire® connection cables are usually only 15 feet (4.6 m). The Ethernet FireWire® Ethernet adapter can send formatted data using Ethernet cables to create longer -efficient CAT5 Ethernet cables to create longer network connections in large buildings. However, the Ethernet Firewire® adapter is unable to translate Firewire® data to Ethernet formatting. The other end of the Ethernet cable cannot be directly connected to the Ethernet receiving computer port.

Firewire® is a high -speed serial bus with a data connection that is used to connect the device to the computer.
