Chang Xinyue grew up in Beijing and New York since she was a child. Both English and Mandarin are mother tongues. In 2009, by chance, Chang Xinyue and her friends participated in the Miss Manhattan beauty pageant. After winning the championship, she won the Miss New York campaign under the Miss Universe Group, one of the three major beauty pageants in the world.
