What is a picture map?
Image map is a graphics that appears on the website containing clicks to help in navigation. Some sites, such as Wisegeek, use a list of links to help visitors go through the web. The content of the site is connected, allowing visitors to find what they are looking for as quickly as possible. The graphics are divided into regions and each area is assigned a link to the image map. Some applications create a picture cut and each cut may have links to the image map that assign them to them, while other applications allow creators of images to drag and select the part of the image, and then assign a link to the image map to the selected section. Links to the image map are assigned hyper-lists to content on the web or even elsewhere on the Internet.
Usually web -page development tools such as Adobe® Dreamweaver® will be able to help create maps of images. Once the image for the image is used to load it is loaded into the environment, the user will be able to draw the selections of clicks around the content parts.These selections are then assigned links as are the buttons of text or complete images. When the content is published on the web server, image map links can be assigned to selected areas of clicks and will be visitors to the content that refer to the image map,
