What is SSL cipher?

Most computers have Internet access today. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is a cryptographic security measure that protects sensitive data on the Internet. SSL Cipher is an encryption algorithm that creates a special certificate that is used as a key between two computers on the Internet. This certificate creates a secret encrypted connection between two mesh computers that blocks undesirable snooping shared data. SSL is not visible to most Internet users, but occurs when you log in to the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) website. Some web browsers alert users when it enters a secure site. This report is an indication of SSL encryption in action. Once the data is encrypted, it is impossible to understand the mixed representation of the original text. SSL Cipher is a cryptographic function that uses encryption keys to create an encrypted message. The encryption keys differ in sizes and complexity. Larger bit keys offer a larger level of security.

There are more forms of SSL Cipher algorithms. They can support either the data encryption standard (DES) or the standard data encryption (AES). AE standards are considered to be more difficult to decipher because they use larger encryption keys.

Cryptography Standards is managed by the Federal Government of the United States through the National Institute of Technology Standards (NIST). This is an agency that manages and publishes standards used by encryption algorithms. Currently, AES is considered a gold standard for data encryption because it supports a 256 -bit encryption key.

In SSL, the entire segments of the link to the telecommunications of the network are encrypted. This end-to-end encryption process is an encrypted tonel between two computers. Advanced form of SSL Cipher is only available in newer versions of operating systems and web browsers. This is because older versions of web browsers have been based on des standards and do not support large encryption keys. Windows® 2000 operating systems require two service packages for advanced SSL encryption.
