What Is ASCII Art?
ASCII art, an art form that mainly relies on computer expression, refers to the use of computer characters (mainly ASCII) to express pictures. It can be generated by a text editor. Many ASCII arts require balanced fonts (fixed-width fonts, such as those used on traditional typewriters) to display. ASCII art is used when the text is more stable and faster than the image. Including typewriters, teletypes, terminals without graphics, early computer networks, email and Usenet news.
