What is data migration?

Data migration means as it sounds, that is, a kind. These are not data that move from place to others unless you think the places are virtual. Data migration is actually a translation of data from one format to another format or from one storage device to another storage device. This also necessarily requires someone or something to translate. The data not only gets up and goes to another format in itself. Software can be written specifically using whole programs or just scripts to make it easier to migrate data. Such upgrades or program switches may take place as a result of regular corporate procedures or as a result of directives ordered after the company is taken over. This data may need to be stored for historical purposes or for periodic access. Individual computer users do this all the time when they back up their data to CD, DVD or external hard drives. Of course, companies and small companies do it to protect and archive their data. Migrated data usually movesOffline, but remain available through network access, so the online environment leaves online business.

Data migration usually has four phases: source data analysis, data extraction and data transformation, data verification and repair, and data use in a new program. During each phase of data migration, it works with electronic magic and performs the necessary machinations before moving the data. Perhaps the most sensitive phase is verification and repair. At this stage, the data is evaluated on the potential problems that are marked and idnaruused on users. At this stage, you can identify insoluble problems along with non -translated data, so it can be postponed and not giving a whole data migration.
