What Is Distributed Network Management?
The distributed network is interconnected by node machines distributed in different locations and having multiple terminals. Any point in the network is connected to at least two lines. When any one line fails, the communication can be completed through other links with high reliability. At the same time, the network is easy to expand.
- Distributed network is also called
- Typical networks of distributed network architecture include IEEE 802.16h network and CogNet network.
IEEE 802.16h Distributed network IEEE 802.16h network
- The IEEE 802.16h standard is dedicated to improving mechanisms such as policies and media access control to ensure coexistence between IEEE 802.16 unlicensed systems and coexistence with authorized systems. The main idea is to allow multiple systems to share resources under the QoS requirements formulated by IEEE 802.16.
- The network consists of a base station and multiple user stations, and a community is formed in the ad-hoc mode between each base station. Each base station in the community needs to maintain a list of base stations that form a community. That is, the user station does not communicate directly with external base stations, and does not need to register the location of the user station: The implementation of IEEE 802.16h is closely related to the database. Each base station has a database that can be opened to other base stations. Share the required information and information related to the base station and the subscriber station itself. IEEE 802.16h network can have two modes of centralized and distributed control.
- Figure 1 shows a centrally controlled IEEE 802.16h network. Its main entity is the Network Management System (NMS). It manages whether a new base station can enter the community. The network management system performs registration and accesses the coexistence identification server and its attached regional database through the network management system. The new base station identifies the open spectrum through the spectrum search process. When using the searched open spectrum, it also needs to register with the domain-by-domain database and the shared database of neighboring base stations; after the base station registers with the coexistence protocol, it uses the Internet Protocol (IP) Communicate with neighboring base stations; the base station that is querying can also preferentially access the shared database of neighboring base stations to obtain global positioning system (Globe PGPS location, coverage area and other information).
- Figure 2 shows a distributed controlled 1EEE 802.16h network. Under distributed control, the base station and user stations send / receive signaling messages from the network management system. The coordination between the base station and the user station is realized through the cognitive processor: the cognitive processor and the network management system interact through a coexistence protocol.

CogNet CogNet Network
- The CogNet network is funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of the United States. Joint research by Rutgers University, U Kansas University, Blossom Inc. CogNet networks are designed to design effective control / management and data interfaces between cognitive nodes in a local network and between the cognitive network and the Internet.
- The CogNet network implements cross-layer network management and the integration of cognitive subnets with the future Internet through a global control plane; through spectrum coordination protocols such as etiquette, policies, or mechanisms such as spectrum servers, dynamic spectrum among cognitive users shared. When a cognitive user turns on or enters a new service area, a network connection can be established through an automatic reconfiguration protocol. In addition, the flexible MAC layer protocol allows cognitive users to have the programmable capability to dynamically select a shared mode according to network conditions and business needs ; Network layer defense supports service discovery, addressing and routing under ad hoc network architecture.
