What is Socket 479?

Socket 479 is an integration socket of Intel® Central Processing Unit (CPU), which allows the motherboard and CPU to work hand in hand and perform functions. Most drawers have a number that indicates how many pins are on the socket and CPU, which would lead to many to the belief that this socket and CPU have both 479 pins, but this CPU really has 478. The 479 connector is used for mobile platforms. The CPU Socket 478 may fit into the 479 connector, but they will not configure or work electronically with this socket. This socket was created in 2001 and has many different microprocessors made under its design. For this socket are made Pentium 3-M®, Mobile Celeron®, Coppermine-T® and Tualatin® CPU.

The Socket 479 is 479 holes. On this socket, it is strange that the CPU usually has the same amount of pins as a socket, but the processors that fit for this outlet have only 478 pins. This was done to distinguish the socket from the Soket 478, which was done simultaneously for desktop computers. The Socket 478 CPU adapts to the 479 connector, but they won't work because the electronic and pin configuration is different. The amount of pins means that many processors made after this socket can fit into the 479 connector, but they will not work either.

If you want to find out the difference between the Socket 478 processor and the Socket 479 - because the CPU looks relatively the same - looking at the PIN configuration will help. Both CPUs have 478 pins, but the PIN configuration differs in the lower right corner. 478 processors lack two pin spaces directly side by side, while 479 CPUs are missing two pins with a diagonal. This PIN configuration is one of the reasons why the 478 CPU does not work with a 479 socket.

The minimum and maximum plot speed of the plinth 479 represents a wider gap than most other drawers. The low processing value is 700 megahertz (MHz) and can go up to 2,333 MHz. Higher value was not usedLive well until 2006, late in career 479 sockets, just before it was discarded for more advanced drawers.
