What are the best tips for forming silicone?

The best tips concerning silicone forming involves the use of mold boxes consisting of two different pieces of wood placed on top of each other. Other strips of wood are the outline of the glue box to hold it together. Place an object that is shaped in this box and cover it with silicone mixed with water. When the silicone is set, remove the box, remove the base and lift the box above the object. Fill the box with silicone again, remove the object from its mold and keep it in place with rubber strips.

Silicone forming is a method of reproduction of small objects. It is possible to create complex objects with fine details using a silicone mold. Materials such as hot tanks, a small piece of wood and vegetables spray are required to create a mold at home. The main material used is 100 % silicone curtain. Cut a piece of wood to be approximately 1/2 inches (1 cm) wider and longer than whm to be formed. The second piece of wood should then be cut that is 1 inch(2,5 cm) wider and longer than a formed object. A smaller piece of wood should be centered and glued to the top of a larger piece. Make sure no adhesive will find the path to the edges of the wood.

Use small 3/4 inch strips (1.75 cm) higher than an object to be formed to be the outline of the box. Put together four strips of wood to create an outline. Connect them to the base with a larger glue. The formed object must then be introduced to the raised part of the base and held there with modeling clay.

The next step in silicone shaping is pouring the mold. Use a vegetable spray on the object and inside the box. Using the brush, make sure the spray is evenly spread over the object. Pour the silicone that has been mixed with a small amount of water into the box to completely cover the object.

As soon as the silicone healed, turn the box upside down and remove the base. Always make sure the objectis not lifted from a mold. Clean any excess modeling clay and slightly lift the box above the mold level.

Use more vegetable sprays on the box and fill the silicone mold to climb the box to rise above the object. Remove the box and cover of the mold and pull the object out of its mold. If the silicone remains at the edges of the mold, clean it.

The last step in silicone shaping is the use of a mold. Use a vegetable spray on the inside of the mold. Fill it with a material for casting molds. Place the mold cover back and allow to raise one edge to allow for excess material and air to bleed. Place the rubber stripes around the mold to keep it in place, but make sure the belts are not too tight or mold distorted.
