What Is a Casing Head?

Casing head, which is used to fix the wellhead of the drilling well, to connect the wellhead casing string, to support the gravity of the technical casing and the oil casing casing, to seal the annular space between the layers of tubing, to install the blowout preventer, the tubing head The Xmas tree provides a transitional connection, and through the two side openings on the casing head body, construction operations such as squeezing mud, monitoring, and filling balance fluid can be performed.

The casing head is generally made of 35 or 42 chromium-molybdenum high-quality alloy structural steel. A casing hanger is also provided in the casing head to suspend the corresponding specifications.
On land or sea
The production of casing head generally has the following processes:
1. Casting slab, casting material into workpiece blank.
2. Rough cutting, preliminary cutting of the workpiece blank.
3. Fine turning. The rough-cut workpiece is machined to the designed accuracy with a lathe.
4. Boring diameter, using a boring machine, boring out the designed inner diameter.
5, drilling, using a drilling machine, drill out the external connection bolt.
6. Heat treatment, quenching and tempering the workpiece.
7. Inspection and inspection: The casing head that has completed the processing process will be inspected for geometric dimensions, hardness, roughness, internal and external defects and non-destructive inspection.
