What is the diode limiter?

LED limiter is an electronic circuit designed for leaning or limiting the AC power voltage (AC) or audio signal to a preset value. This is usually necessary, if the supply voltage is larger than the need or powerful sound signals, they require compression to prevent overload. Diode limiter circuits achieve this trimming function by placing one or two zener diodes in parallel with power or signal. One diode will bring only one half of the wave form, while a few diodes will be ill with both negative and positive parts of the cycle. Precise limitation is possible due to known characteristics limiting the voltage of different Zener diodes.

Any power supply or audio signal is made up of a sinus or sinus wave form. Sinus wave is a smooth recurring series of positive and negative peaks with zero value in the center of the wave form. The height between these peaks and zero point defines an amplitude or signal size or power. LED LIMITER CANControl the amplitude of the signal if it is too large by cutting one half of the wave or both. Creating an accurate reduction in amplitude with a diode limiter is possible due to unique and accurate abilities limiting the voltage of Zener diodes.

This exact marginal characteristic allows the zener diode to limit the voltage that passes at a predetermined level. If it is inserted via a power supply or output of the signal, it limits half the wave mold to its nominal voltage. If the second diode in the opposite direction or the orientation of distortion to the first is inserted into the perimeter, then the positive and positive half of the wave form will be limited. These diodes are usually accompanied by one or more resistors in the perimeter limiting voltage, which help in creating a well -controlled output voltage.

LED limits have many uses in electronic and sound -caplication where it is used to produce low workingVoltage from one higher supply voltage or to compress too powerful sound signals. LED limitations are simple, efficient and accurate voltage controllers that occupy minimal physical space on the circuit boards. These circuits are also particularly cost -effective voltage output control. There is also a countless number of available rating of the zener diodes that provide the flexibility of the district designers at the precise voltage produced by the limitors of the diodes in their circuits.
