What Is a Hoistway?

The elevator shaft is the space where the car and the counterweight device or (and) hydraulic cylinder plunger move. This space is bounded by the bottom of the shaft pit, the shaft wall and the top of the shaft.

As the main lighting equipment in the construction, the shaft lighting will also play the role of elevator shaft lighting after the construction of the elevator is completed. Therefore, the construction must be strictly performed in accordance with the standards and the following standards must be observed:
(1) A fixed 36V lighting device with a shield is installed in the hoistway, and a lighting lamp is provided every 2 to 2.5 rn.
(2) There should be more than two lighting lamps on the top and bottom pits, and sockets should be installed at appropriate positions on the middle floor.
(3) The lighting power supply should be powered separately, and a control switch should be set at the bottom. The power supply should be protected against short circuit and overload.
While setting up the lighting of the shaft, it is necessary to get in touch with Party A to determine the power source for construction, and connect the power source to the special distribution box for construction. Check the fuses and leakage protectors in the distribution box. Confirm that the construction lighting should use a safe voltage of 36V, and the lighting lamp should use a running light with a protective cover. All computer rooms, warehouses and working surfaces need to be set up with independent lighting. [4]
(1) Operators must wear safety helmets when entering the hoistway, and they should wear safety belts when climbing up. Tools should be put into tool bags. Large tools should be fastened with safety ropes and placed properly.
(2) During the operation, the use of scaffolding should be checked frequently. If there are hidden dangers, the construction should be stopped immediately to take effective measures.
(3) When laying the wire grooves and piping on the inner wall of the hoistway, the scaffold should be solid, and springboards should be added when necessary, but the two ends of the springboard should be tied firmly with the scaffolding.
(4) The lighting lamp used in the construction of the hoistway should have sufficient brightness, and its voltage must be a low voltage of 36V.
(5) Due to the high labor intensity, the installation of guide rails and car frames and other components must be reasonably organized and arranged, and safety protection measures must be taken. A special person is responsible for unified command. [5]
