What is a keyhole?

The key hole is a precise cutting tool with a long, thin blade used primarily for cutting tight curves and small holes in soft wood, plastic or plasterboard. Other names for the instrument include the alligator saw, the drill on plasterboard and Compass Saw. Key hole saws are often used to create holes for pipes and electrical wiring and for small cuts that cannot be done with drills, electric saws or worm bits due to size limitation. Most of the key hole blades are 5 to 15 inches (12.7 to 38.1 centimeters) in length, with 5 to 20 teeth per inch. The key hole saws can be fixed or retainable, depending on how the blade is attached to the handle.

A retracting saw for a keyhole normally contains an iron handle and various blades are connected to the handle. The blade can also be inserted into the handle to be protected from bending or damage if the anobbing during use. Repaired saws for a keyhole areCheaper and perform the same task, but lack the ability to insert.

In the construction industry, the keyhole has experienced modifications to make it easier and more efficient to use for different tasks. Key holes with sharpened tip are available and these blades are finely pushed with plasterboard or soft wood. This process negates the need to use electric drills to create an initial hole and save time and power.

Using a keyhole, it requires the starting hole drilling into the wall first and then inserting the blade. The saw moves slowly and back manually and the blade cuts to the rear blow. If the blade is used, the starting hole is not unnecessary and the blade is simply inserted into the wall and is used to cut off the desired part. Using excessive pressure on the blade, while cutting should prevent it because it can cause the blade to get stuck or stuck in the wall.

Older saw for keyThe hole requires more maintenance than newer models, because older versions usually have cross -sectional teeth that need to be sharpened by a craftsman. Multiple models of the SAW function replaced blade that can be removed when they become matt or damage. A newer saw for a key hole with a fixed blade are often replaced if necessary, as it usually costs less than the blade repair.
