What is a lobe pump?
The
lobe pump is a pump with a positive shift that has a few lobe rotors that spin in a closed tight housing. Rotors usually have three lobes and fit in a similar way to gears, although direct contact between them is prevented. The outer edges of the lobes also pass in very close proximity to the inner surface of the housing. In this way, the rotors form the sealed pockets between their lobes and the housing when it spins, which transports the material from the pump input on one side of the housing to the output on the other side. Lobe pumps are used in many industries that require fine, non -destructive pumping effect and can be used to draw solids, suspensions and certain fluids. In the case of a lobe pump, there are two hubs or rotorypicizing, a closed case. The lobe rotors usually have three evenly straddled protrusions or lobes, which are directly resembled by a clover leaf when viewed. Rotors rotate in opposite directions and areu located so that their lobes ignite, but in fact do not make each other physical contact. In other words, when turning, the lobe on one rotor passes through the space between two other rotor lobes without touching them.
The gap between the lobes of the rotor and the pump tire is also very small, which means that the spaces between the lobes form seal cells as they pass through the pump cover. It is this function that makes it easier to transmit the drawn material. When the rotors rotate, they attract the material over the inlet port on one side of the housing and capture it in the gaps between the lobes, followed by the rotor movement around the cover before the output port on the other side.
These types of pumps are known for their fine action, which has a very small abrasive or appalling effect on the material passing through it. For this reason, the lobe pump is often used in industrial industries where you areFor sensitive materials drawn. The lobe pump is also very flexible in the range of materials for which it can be used. Can be used to move solids such as small fruit; suspension; And some fluids, especially those with high viscosity such as oils.
