What is a plastic screw?
Plastic screw is the type of fastening element used for mechanical connections between mating. These screws are commonly used in consumer electronic devices, small household appliances and in many other applications where metal fastening is not required or cannot be used. Plastic screws are light, hard, resistant to corrosion and have good electrical insulation properties. They easily adapt to irregular surfaces and provide some vibration damping. It has a large head at one end and cylindrical shaft with outer thread - a hellic structure that allows an advanced screw after turning. The knocked hole or nut has an inner fiber that corresponds to the outer fiber of the screw. When the plastic screw is inserted and rotated into the hole or nut, the screw proceeds. The screw is tightened and released by applying the torque to the USin head and the tool. The screw material affects its strength in holding, electrical resistance, moisture absorption properties and physical appearance. A plastic screw can generate a vigorAmna clamping force, but the amount of clamping force is limited, due to the lower solid properties of the plastic compared to the steel. For this reason, plastic screws are usually not used for extensive or cumbersome mechanical fasteners.
There are many different types of plastic screws. Several common types include a pelvic head - which has a flat profile, with rounded edges and recessed slot for use with a screwdriver - and a hex head that has a hexagonal shape for use with a tick or socket key. The WPRO plastic screw special application can also be purchased a head known as set or Grub screw . The thumb and other styles that allow tightening without a tool can also be purchased in various plastic materials.
plastic screws are easily available in English and metric sizes AS with a wide range of coarse and fine threads. Some plastic materials like JE nylon, easily absorbs moisture from the environment, which can cause a significant change in the screw dimensions. This effect should be taken into account if the change in the screw dimensions could adversely affect the integrity and functionality of the mechanical connection.
