What Is a Release Liner?
Release paper is an anti-sticking paper that prevents prepreg from blocking and protects the prepreg from contamination. Release paper is made of paper coated with anti-sticking material, and its model should be distinguished according to the difference in material, thickness, elongation, and single and double sides.
Release paper
- Release paper, also known as
- (1)
- 1, cleanliness: refers to the cleanliness and cleanliness of the surface, because the production environment of release paper manufacturers are different, most are not dust-free studios, due to cost issues, it is not possible to use dust-free studios, generally Said to be ordinary factory buildings, a little better will have a lot of improvements in environmental protection and the environment, these will have an impact on cleanliness.
- 2. Release degree: refers to the release degree of release paper. There is no absolute value at this point. It depends on the formula of each manufacturer.
- 3. Peeling force: It refers to whether the product is easy to tear off. Of course, there are strict test standards.
- In the selection of release paper, cost, product quality, production process, product characteristics, and usage are mainly considered.
- 1. Product characteristics: The most commonly used adhesive tapes in Korea are Sanzhi of South Korea, Nitto of Japan, and San M of the United States, etc. Because different adhesive tapes have different adhesive properties, this determines that we must consider this aspect when choosing release paper. Case..
- 2. Cost: There is a big difference between domestic and imported release paper. Generally speaking, the reputation of domestic release paper is not very good, especially the three-M tape and Nitto tape, which often appear on the surface. Mist or release is too low to release the release paper and product well. Only domestic release paper is definitely cheaper than imported, and there is a relatively large price ratio. If you consider that the company's products are used for export, of course, it is best to use imported release paper, which will be smoother in terms of export; Due to the characteristics of the production equipment and production level of domestic release paper, the instability of domestic release paper on certain products has been determined. The serious consequence is that the tape will be wasted.
- 3. Production process: The focus here is whether to punch or cut. Generally, when punching or cutting, the thickness of the release paper is required, because the release paper with low gram weight is not easy to be punched when used for punching. Of course, This is also related to the fragility of the backing paper. The backing paper with poor fragility will tear the paper and the product when punching or cutting, which can not achieve the desired or desired effect.
- 4. Usage: This is mainly reflected in the fact that some products only need to maintain the balance of the product during transportation, then it will require the product and the release paper to not fall easily.
- Regarding the choice of release paper, it is mainly suitable. In terms of personal understanding, there is no absolute good or absolute bad. Domestic production has the advantages of domestic production, and import also has the strength of import. The selection of release paper is equal to the process of college entrance examination, because all factors must be considered comprehensively, and a reasonable and cost-effective effect can be achieved under the balance of various factors.
- The release paper has the following technical indicators: dry silicon coating amount, peeling force at normal temperature, aging peeling force and residual adhesion rate.
- The dry silicon coating amount refers to the amount of the release agent coated on the material, and the unit is grams per square meter. Generally, the coating amount of solvent-based silicone oil is from 0.30 to 0.80 g per square meter, and the coating amount of solvent-free silicone oil is from 0.80 to 1.30 g per square meter. Professional testing equipment is required to test the coating amount. The amount of silicone oil coating directly affects the peeling performance. The higher coating amount can cover the base paper densely to ensure the uniform distribution of silicone oil. The lower the amount of silicone oil coating, it is prone to miss coating and other phenomena, resulting in poor peeling. Some release coating suppliers to reduce the amount of silicone oil coating, resulting in heavy peeling, producing heavy release paper, which is quite risky in use. Reliable manufacturers can adjust the peeling force by adjusting the chemical formula without reducing the amount of silicone oil coating. This requires considerable technical accumulation, not overnight.
- Peeling force at normal temperature. Peeling force data obtained by standard test methods at normal temperature. The unit is N / 25mm, which can be converted into how many grams. Generally 0.10N / 25mm, that is, peeling force below 10 grams, commonly known as light peeling; 0.20N / 25mm, that is, peeling force below 20 grams, commonly known as medium peeling; 0.35 ~ 0.45N / 25mm, that is, 35 ~ 45 grams Peeling force, commonly known as heavy peeling; 0.60 ~ 0.80N / 25mm, that is, 60 ~ 80 grams of peeling force, commonly known as heavy peeling; Of course, there is also 0.03 ~ 0.04N / 25mm, that is, 3 ~ 4 grams of peeling force, commonly called light Light peeling; also has a peeling force of 1.00N / 25mm, which is more than 100 grams, commonly known as overweight peeling.
- Aging peeling force . The peeling force data measured after aging is generally slightly larger than the peeling force at room temperature.
- Residual adhesion rate refers to the force of the release paper after the first peeling and the second peeling. The data obtained after calculation mainly reflects the curing effect of the silicone oil. The residual adhesion rate of UV curing silicone oil is generally 100%, and the residual adhesion rate of heat curing silicone oil is up to 90%. A few suppliers are suspicious if they claim that their release paper has a residual adhesion rate of 100%. If desiliconization occurs, the residual stickiness of this release paper is generally not higher than 70%. Testing the technical indicators of release paper is a rather complicated project. General electronics factories and tape factories can only test the last few data. As for the amount of silicone oil coating, it generally does not appear in the technical report of the release coating supplier.
