What is a divided face block?

, also known as concrete masonry, is a block division of faces with a type of concrete block, which has another element of design that creates a visually attractive look. The texture of the block with a split face is somewhat like the text of the cut stone and is characterized by the presence of a division in the middle of the block. For the most part, these types of blocks are used for external construction on institutional and commercial buildings, as well as for the outer support walls.

The creation of a block with a split face begins with a combination of Portland cement, a certain amount of water and specified aggregates such as gravel or sand. In addition, admixtures will also be included to ensure a finished block distribution of faces with certain characteristics, such as water repeling or slowing erosion due to exposure to the sun and other natural elements. Once the combination of ingredients is mixed, the blocks are formed to the desired size and shape and then slightly compressed the material was as denser as possible. At this stage, the block can split the faces.

After cure of the face distribution block, the block is divided longitudinally or across, depending on the design preferred for task. This leaves a texture that is rough and somewhat like a partially weathered stone texture. The aggregates, especially all that have been introduced as a means of adding color and texture, help to achieve blocks and also provide a finished product with any indication of the color that have been added to the aggregates by means of admixtures.

Since it is easy to adapt the production of a block with a division into a construction project project, blocks are available in a wide range of colors, textures and shapes. Many communities contain production devices that can produce blocks using native sources. This means that the blocks may not be made in a remote location and sent to the construction site.

Application of the Split-Face block has a tendency to be more in the field of commercial and institutional statusEb projects. They may include building facades, block walls surrounding real estate or even inner walls. Examples of blocks of divided faces are used to create municipal buildings, office buildings and even worship houses. Blocks are often treated to slow erosion due to exposure to water or rain.
