What is the strut channel?

Strut Channel is a building material used as a structural support system for wires, pipes and related equipment in the building. These metal channels are commonly used in heating, ventilation and air conditioning or HVAC fields to suspend the device from the ceiling or roof decks. The channel is often referred to as Kindorf®, Metstrut® or Unistut®.

The standard strut channel consists of a bent sheet and folded to form a rigid U -shaped channel. The channel edges are curved towards each other, creating a groove along the top of the material. This channel allows the installations to connect the strut channel components together or place in the body of the channel and other fasteners. Most channels also have regular pre -drilled holes along its length for fast and easy fastening. These channels come in different shapes and sizes to meet the needs of different installations.

Manufacturers rely on varieties of metals for the construction of a parsing channel. While StandaRadná steel is the most economical option, and outdoor applications can be required by zinc -coated steel. This zinc coating, known as galvanizing, helps protect the channel from rust and corrosion. Stainless steel around chemicals or salt water can be used for further corrosion resistance. Aluminum struts also serve as a light variant in applications where weight is a primary problem.

One of the main advantages of using the channel Strut is that it allows HVAC installations to hang pipes and equipment very efficiently. The channel can be organized in almost any type of design to suit different types of devices and can be easily reconfigured if necessary. These channels also receive almost any type of fastener, including screws, screws and special clips. Those looking for an alternative standardstrut channel often considers it necessary to invest in their own steel support system thatIn most applications, it tends to cost more than the strut channel.

Strut Channel also plays a major role in the solar panel industry. These channels are one of the most versatile and most effective ways of installing solar panels on the roof or on the ground. Particular channels are also a popular choice for use in solar rack systems. These channels provide installation maximum flexibility over how the panel can be tilted and configured. This allows users to edit the panels in the field or over time to achieve the desired level of solar exposure.
