What Is a Turret Board?
The turret head is a mechanical part of the machine tool equipment. It can be directly installed in front of the machine tool spindle and driven by the machine tool, or it can be driven by the servo motor alone. It can also be installed on multiple sides of the machine tool to perform multi-axis motion. The output can be equipped with two to six replaceable spindles with central cooling, which can perform drilling, tapping, boring, and milling.
- The characteristics of the turret head are as follows:
- (1) Quick tool change, high speed, high torque, high processing efficiency;
- (2) Each spindle can be installed with different tools, which can be drills, taps, milling cutters, etc .;
- (3) Various output types, ABS, HSK, ER, DIN55058;
- (4) The gear of the turret head is locked and released by the hydraulic mechanism.
- The turret head should meet the following requirements:
- 1. Reliable work; 2. Short tool change time; 3. The magazine should be able to accommodate enough tools; 4. The structure should be as simple as possible to facilitate manufacturing, maintenance, adjustment and cost reduction; 5. The layout should be reasonable to make the overall layout of the machine tool Harmonious, beautiful and generous; 6. It should have sufficient rigidity and smoothness of movement to avoid impact, vibration and noise as much as possible; 7. It should have dust-proof and chip-proof devices and measures. [2]
- The turret head is mainly used for multi-function lathes or special machine tools, etc. Generally, it is mostly used for processing slender workpieces such as crankshafts and parts that need to complete multiple processes.
