What Is an Expansion Bolt?

Expansion bolt is a special threaded connection used to fix pipe support / hanging / bracket or equipment on the wall, floor or column. Carbon steel bolts are classified into more than 10 grades, including 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9, and 12.9.

Expansion bolts are classified into 45, 50, 60, 70, 80;
Material main points
The grades of stainless steel bolts are divided into 45, 50, 60, 70, and 80. The materials are mainly divided into austenite A1, A2, A4, martensite and ferrite C1, C2, and C4. The expression method is A2-70. -"Indicates the bolt material and strength grade before and after. [1]
When using, you must first drill a hole of the corresponding size on the fixed body with an impact drill (hammer), and then install the bolt and expansion tube into the hole and tighten it.
Expansion bolts of performance class 4.6, their meanings are :
1. The nominal tensile strength of the expansion bolt material reaches 400MPa;
2. The yield ratio of the expansion bolt material is 0.6;
3.The nominal yield strength of the expansion bolt material is 400 × 0.6 = 240MPa
The meaning of the performance level of expansion bolts is an international standard. The performance of expansion bolts of the same performance level is the same regardless of the material and the origin. The design can only use the performance level. [1]
1. Drilling depth: It is better to be about 5 mm deeper than the length of the expansion tube. 2. Of course, the requirements of the expansion bolt on the ground are as hard as possible, which depends on the force of the objects you need to fix. When installed in concrete (C13-15), the strength is five times that in bricks. 3. After an M6 / 8/10/12 expansion bolt is correctly installed in the concrete, its optimal maximum static force is 120/170/320/510 kg respectively. (Note that vibration will loosen the bolt) [1]
1. Drilling depth: The best depth in the specific construction is about 5 mm deeper than the length of the expansion pipe. As long as the length of the expansion pipe is greater than or equal to the length of the expansion pipe, the length of the internal expansion bolt left in the ground is equal to or less than the length of the expansion pipe.
2. Of course, the requirements of the internal expansion bolts for the ground are as hard as possible, which also depends on the force of the objects you need to fix. The strength of installation in concrete (C13-15) is five times that in bricks.
3. After an M6 / 8/10/12 internal expansion bolt is correctly installed in the concrete, its optimal maximum static force is 120/170/320/510 kg. The installation method of the internal expansion bolt is not very difficult. The specific operation is as follows; first select an alloy drill with the same diameter as the expansion screw tightening ring (tube), install it on an electric drill, and then perform hole drilling on the wall. The depth of the hole is best The bolts are the same length, and then the expansion screw kit is lowered into the hole together, remember; do not unscrew the screw, to prevent the bolt from falling into the hole when the hole is deeper, and it is not easy to take it out. Then tighten the screw nut 2-3 buckles, then feel the inner expansion bolt is relatively tight without loosening, and then unscrew the screw nut. [1]
