What Is an Extension Ladder?
What is the ladder theory
Step theory
- The "Basic Structure of Consciousness" diagram does look like a ladder, which also confuses those who think that the development model is a fixed and linear. This is a misunderstanding of the direction of development model efforts.
- It is best to understand the "basic structure of consciousness" diagram as a series of concentric circles or sets of spheres -each higher stage transcends and encompasses its previous stage. It is an actualization holarchy, and each stage starts with
- "In the dream of deep sleep, something that doesn't exist is not true."
- I have been meditating seriously for 20 years when I heard the words of His Holiness Ramana. I used to practice Zen under the guidance of Hitomi and Matsumi; studied Tibetan secrets with Kalu and Tsangpa Rinpoche; learned great fulfillment with King Benofa and Chadu Rinpoche; in addition, he studied Vedanta long or short Multi-sect philosophy, transcendental meditation, Kashmir epistemology philosophy, Christian mysticism, Kabbalist mysticism, John's sect of liberators, Sufi mysticism, etc ...
- When I read Ramana's sentence, I was doing a great retreat, and the instructor was Qadu Rinpoche. Rinpoche emphasized Shen Jing's heart of dreams and deep sleep. I started to have this constant awareness and I was also certified by Rinpoche. One year later, in an eleven-day retreat, the ego finally died and died completely-everything seemed to have had results. That eleven days I didn't fall asleep at all, in other words, I was awake day and night, even though my body and mind experienced the situation of waking, dreaming and deep sleep: I was as immobile as these changes, and No "I" can be shaken passively. There is only immobile and contentless awareness. It is like a mirror and everything it sees is one.
- As soon as you find your own Buddha-like mind, true self, pure divinity, or the source of God, you can enter this inferior realm with this continuous consciousness, including the subtle state of mind and roughness. Physical state and restore their vitality with light. At this moment you are not fixed on phaselessness and solitude. You will empty that emptiness: you put yourself into the world of the mind and the blunt world, enter them with equality, and give them creativity. This unique mind and body is the so-called "you" (in my case, this "you" is the so-called Ken Wilbur); waiting for you this time is the tool of your divinity. Then, everything, including your ego's mind, body, feelings, and thoughts, begins to rise from your expansive emptiness, because you no longer agree with it, and you have the ability to let it pass its life and death. In the moment of the rise, he was relieved. At this moment you begin to perceive the freedom of fundamental advancement, and sing a song of liberation, let out a conspicuous light, and drink the water of joy. The moon is a part of your body, you look at it this way, the sun is also a part of your own heart, you salute it with such a state of mind, everything is true. Forever and forever, forever and forever, only "this" exists.
- However, you are not finding or reaching this level of freedom. Freedom has lived in stark witness from the beginning. You just discover the natural consciousness, the pure but vacant self, or the radical "I am the self" that was sufficient in the beginning. You haven't found it for a long time, because you are lost in this dreamlike drama of your life.
- There are two common mistakes people make when moving towards blind realms. The first is committed when in contact with witnesses, and the second is committed when witnesses enter blindly. First mistake: When the view comes in contact with "witness" (or "I am the nature"), people often think that they will see a certain state. In fact, you haven't seen anything, you just dwell in the witnessyou are the pure and empty consciousness, not the things that can be seen. Whether it is a fleeting image, ecstasy, or special light, it is not the witness itself, but just some objects.
- When you enter blindly, you will naturally become everything you see, but you cannot try to see the "reality", because the effort itself is an obstacle. You have to start with the negation of "I'm not this, I'm not that". So the first mistake people make is trying to turn witnessing into a target that can be caught.
- Witnessing is just a testimony of everything that rises. It feels irrelevant to these things. It is just a feeling of freedom and liberation. We thought that self-deflation would hinder our divinity. In fact, it is just the manifestation of the divinity, if everything else in the universe is the same. The vacuum is wonderful, including the manifestation of self. Moreover, isn't it the ego that wants to destroy itself? God loves everything and sees and loves everything that arises from it. Witness self-love, for witnessing is the heart of the mirror that reflects all of this. But I thought it could be more consolidated, so I started playing the game of destroying myself-the reason is simple, as long as it is still playing this game, it can continue to exist. (Who else is playing this game?) Zhuang Zhou pointed out early, "Is it the self-expression that wants to remove my desire?"
- The ego is not an entity, but a subtle sense of labor, so it cannot be resolved with strenuous efforts. Efforts must be a double effort. The ego itself is the perfect manifestation of divinity. The best way to deal with it is to stay and live in an attempt to destroy it, which will only make it more laborious. So how do you cultivate? You just need to settle in and witness "I am the self" or in solitude, and then feel or pay attention to that self-deflation. When you "feel" austerity, you are already "releasing" it, because you no longer agree with it, but just look at it. You are looking at it from the position you have witnessed, and the witness has been liberated from everything.
- So settle in the witness and feel the austerity-just like you feel the earth or the clouds passing by. Thoughts pass through the heart, feelings flash across the body, self-austerity hovering in awareness, you just witness them effortlessly, spontaneously, equally and completely. Being in that state of effortlessness, just simply feeling that self-austerity without trying to destroy it, the blind state may flash more easily. You can't let blindly appear in front of you, because it is already in front of you, you have never lost it. The best you can do is to avoid making these two mistakes. (Don't treat witnessing as an object, but just stay in it; don't try to destroy yourself, but just feel it.) Get you to the edge of the cliff that you are "as it is." Once you reach that tipping point, everything is out of your control.
- No matter what kind of practice you are doing now--such as prayer back to the center of awareness, Vipassana, meditation prayer, meditation, yoga, memory of Allah, etc .-- you can take this Items are added. Other exercises are to help you enter a special state of consciousness, but it is not a special state blindly-it can coexist with all states, just like the wetness of each wave. The waves may be different in size, but the wetness is the same. The blindness is the wetness of water. It is not a special wave. Therefore, training methods such as Vipassana, yoga, or prayer cannot bring you into blindness. These trainings are designed to get you into a particular wave of waves-usually very large waves-and that's fine. Even the smallest spray is still wet, so it doesn't matter what state your awareness is in. You all live in the tide to feel that austerity, while maintaining relief and freedom.
- However, please continue to maintain your other exercises, because they can lead you into some important waves of consciousness (spiritual realm, subtle light realm, and non-phase realm), they are all important tools that can make your deity fully manifest . Because the blindness is so incredible and effortless to reach, most people can't find the current wave is wet. They can never find out that the current state is "Ru Ru". That's why they chase waves of waves throughout their lives, always hoping that the next wave will be bigger than the previous wave. Honestly, this is not bad. Those unique practice methods are to help you enter a more and more subtle level, while unknowingly making you tired of all the experience. Once you get tired of surfing games, you will naturally live in the current wave.
- Purely witnessing is not an experience in itself, but an open space that allows experience to die. As long as you are chasing various experiences, including spiritual practice, you cannot live and witness, and of course it is impossible to enter the sea of blindness that is always present. Once you are tired of all kinds of experiences, you will naturally live and witness. Only by living and witnessing can you find blindness. At that time, the wind was your breath, the stars were the neurons in your brain, the sun was your taste in the morning, and the earth was your body's feelings. Your heart will be open to everything, and the legal world will burst into your soul, and you will become the infinite galaxy that works in eternity. The world is left with its own self-sufficient perfection, and its emptiness is full of intimate glory-the only truth preserved for eternity, so carved on the wall of immortality: there is only "this", nothing else Something.
