What Is Bamboo Scaffolding?

Shed building , known as canopy in Cantonese, is a traditional building technology that combines engineering and mechanics. It is said that the shed technology was created from "Youchao" and is widely used in building construction, renovation and repair. A temporary work platform provides workers with high-altitude work; and in some traditional festivals, village residents celebrate with bamboo tents.

The use of bamboo branches to build temporary platforms has existed since ancient times, and it has been said that the technique originated from the nest building houses on trees. Traditionally, bamboo sheds are often used as temporary decorative structures, such as theater sheds [1]
The cost of bamboo is very cheap compared to aluminum alloy bars or steel pipes of the same length. Common bamboo branches include moso bamboo and cypress bamboo, commonly known as "mao bamboo", which must grow for three years before being thick enough to be used as a shed. Mainly produced in Guangxi and Vietnam; and its flexibility is suitable for use in any project, workers can quickly change or cut bamboo into the required length and shape; bamboo branches are light in weight and easy to carry, required for the construction and disassembly of a bamboo scaffold The time is shorter than other types of scaffolding, saving time and speed, and can be summarized by the words "fast, good, and provincial".
However, the monopoly situation of bamboo scaffolding in Hong Kong has been gradually broken. Modern metal
