What is a stick welding?

The welding of the rods is a welding process of an arch that uses welding sticks, also called welding rods. This process is also known as manual arc welding or shading of a metal arch. The welding sticks are composed of metal and flow fillers. The flow component is used to protect the molten metal weld, while the metal metal is used to connect two pieces of metal together.

The equipment and method used in this process are very basic. The grounding cable is cleared to the work and connected to one side of the arc welding power supply. The electrode cable and electrode holder are connected to the other side of the power unit. Consible welding is located in the electrode holder and is used as an electrode that closes the power circuit. When this circuit is closed, the electrical resistance of the basic metals of the workpiece and filling metal generates a high amount of heat necessary for welding.

To start the rod welding processBlouk. This step is called an arc hit. Movement along the joint and maintaining close proximity with the electrode and part can be produced a long, continuous weld. Once the weld is made and left to cool, the slag created by the protective action of the flow is tapped using a slag hammer. The joint is then ready to complete or more welding.

Due to easy operation and low operating costs, the welding of sticks is one of the most common industrial welding processes. Although it is primarily used to weld basic metals such as iron and steel, there are many other metals that can be connected using this process. Several of these other metals include aluminum, copper and nickel alloys. These other metals may require special welding sticks to prevent problems with incompatible metals in the weld.

Method welding sticks are commonly used in the construction of pipes, OPRAYou cars, construction of steel buildings and industrial production. With versatility and low equipment costs, he also found a place in home workshops. The main disadvantage of using this welding method is welding splatter. This occurs when pieces of molten metal hold areas outside the joint. While the technique of rod welding does not create pure welding of laser welding processes, it is more than adequate for many applications for industrial and home welding.
