What is Alumina Zirconia?
Alumina Zirconia, also known as Zirconia reinforced alumina (ZTA), is a hard ceramic medium made of aluminum and zirconia oxide. It is often used in industry as a medium with sand and casting and foundry applications. Thanks to its abrasive characteristics, it makes it an excellent candidate for the production of bike and disc grinding. Incorporation from 10 percent to 20 percent of Zirconia increases the power of aluminum by a process known as the hardening of transformation induced by strength. This composite is so hard and wear resistant that it is also used in medical applications such as joint replacing. Ceramics are divided into four categories: structural, refraction, white and technical. Alumina Zirconia belongs to the last category, which consists of oxides, non -oxides and composites. It is a product combination of aluminum and zirconia oxide, so it is classified as composite. The process induces a phase switch and causes cracks in the zirconium structure and a change in the shape and volume of the particle, which then increases the pressure on the particlesiník. The voltage seals cracks and makes composite resistant to further decay. This process effectively doubles the strength of the material and creates a composite that is much harder than the alumina itself.
Zirconia Alumina produced in this way has other attributes in addition to increased force. The material is able to withstand very high temperatures without losing usefulness, is resistant to corrosion and is very resistant to wear. Zirconia Alimina has a number of industrial uses, such as sandy, and this material can create tools for cutting metals. It is used in the production of valve seats and other parts of the vehicle and its resistance to corrosion is its use in seals, housing and impeller conventional.
zirconia alumina is also used in the medical industry, especially in joint spare parts. Resistance to wear, durability and the ability to withstand a large weight makes zirconia alumina with a choice of PRO orthopedic implants. In addition, the composite is used in its abrasive form to grind and trim orthopedic implants as soon as they are released from their forms. Cut-off wheels made of Zirconia alumina are preferred to pre-finish many types of implants because they cut faster than wheels made only of oxide, last many times and work well on the hardened materials used in implants.
