What should I know about mixing concrete?

Concrete is most often used to build foundations. If the concrete is incorrectly mixed, you will expose the risk of the development of endowment cracks that can weaken the structure of the building. The solid foundation includes accurate measurements and mixing of the concrete to the correct consistency.

For concrete mixing, several items are needed. From home needs, buying cement, sand, aggregate, measuring bucket and fabric sails. For mixing concrete, the cement blender is recommended because it does a much more thorough job than manual mixing. The cement blender can be rented an hour or a day. Pour cement into a bucket that will be used for measurement. Document how much cement is in the bucket and then transfer it to the concrete blender. Transfer the sand to the cement mixture. Use the same bucket to measure four -wing aggregate as there was sand. Transfer the unit to the cement mixture.

The mixing concrete includes the exact amount of water. The amount of water should be equal to 55 percent of the amount of cement used. After adding the right amountWater will be concrete with a consistency of pancakes. This is important because concrete, which is too strong or thin, bursts and threatens the foundation.

Examine the sink test to see if the concrete after mixing is the right consistency. Place the slope cone on the surface and fill it with a concrete mixture and make sure to remove any air bubbles. Raise gently lift the cone and find out about a third of the concrete slump. If so, concrete is the right consistency. If it becomes more or less, it will be necessary to adjust the water accordingly.

Use the water hose to spray the ground where the concrete pipes will be laid. After mixing the concrete with the cement blender, distribute it to the ground immediately. It dries and starts to settle quickly. Leave the concrete to sit for about one hour.

cover the concrete with cloth sails after it is set for an hour. Saturate cloth sails and keep them damp afterBU 14 days. Remove the sails and spray the concrete regularly for another 14 days. After the concrete sets a total of 28 days, it is ready for position.
