What is hymenotomy?
Hymenotomy is a minor surgery that includes the removal of part or all female hymen. There are many reasons why a woman might need hymenotomy, most of them have to do with malformation of hymen. Some women have this operation to increase comfort during sexual intercourse, while others need it for health reasons. In many cases, the antymens are simply removed, although some of them can be left in place for personal or religious reasons. A woman who receives hymenotomy usually has a relatively fast recovery time and excludes any infection or surgical complications. The uncovered part of this opening is usually sufficient to allow normal menstrual flow or use of swabs. Traditionally, she is considered to be a representation of virginity, broken for the first time when a young woman has sexual intercourse. Hymens can also be stretched or broken in other ways, such as the first young woman uses a swab, during athletic exercise or during masturbation.
Young woman who requires hymenotomy usually has imperfective, separated or microperforated hymen. The patient covers the entire vaginal opening and usually has no holes or perforations. Septate Hymen usually have two small holes parallel to each other on both sides of the vaginal opening. Microperforarate Hymen generally contains one or several very small holes. In all these cases, hymenotomy may be necessary to facilitate menstrual flow, allow a woman to use a swab or facilitate contact.
In some cases, young women with relatively normal hymenotomy require relatively normal hymenotomy. These patients usually have very strong or rigid hymes that can be very painful or impossible. Although the doctor usually removes the entire Hymen, some women prefer part of the pad left left. This may be a question of personal preference or for religious reasons. Judaism, Christianity and Islam appreciate the Mr.Envstvo in unmarried young women and leaving part of the hymen can help the patient feel that she still lives in her education.
Most hymenotomic procedures are performed in a few hours. The woman usually is subject to anesthesia and the doctor's anesthetic vaginal opening. The doctor then carefully cuts off the part or all the strap covering the vaginal opening. The wounds are closed and a young woman is instructed to keep the area clean and dry as she can. Infections and inflammation are possible, but are relatively unusual and usually very treatable.
