What Is a Partial Nephrectomy?
There are two types of kidney injury: open and closed. Open injuries are more common in wartime. Closed injuries are most common in traffic accidents and work-related injuries. Renal injury can be accompanied by trauma to the thoracoabdominal organs and other parts, especially open injuries. Attention should also be paid to the diagnosis and treatment of combined injuries.

Partial nephrectomy surgery steps

Nursing after partial nephrectomy
- After general anesthesia, routine nursing, wound cleansing, unobstructed drainage tube, health education, absolute bed rest for 10-14 days, mainly supine, to encourage the voluntary movement of the limbs, and to move along the bed after 2 weeks.
Partial nephrectomy considerations
- 1. Absolutely bedridden. Pay attention to whether the wound has bleeding or hematuria in the early postoperative period.
- 2. Strengthen anti-infective measures. The application of antibacterial drugs lasts for at least 3 weeks.
- 3. Continue to use hemostatic drugs.
- 4. The drainage tube was removed 5-7 days after surgery.
- 5. Blood pressure and urine routine should be checked regularly after surgery. The function and morphology of the kidney need to be evaluated 3 months after the operation.
Diet after partial nephrectomy
- Fasting and drinking before anal exhaust, liquid diet 1 day after exhaust, semi-liquid diet 2-3 days after exhaust-general food. Drink plenty of water and avoid spicy food.
