What is alendronic acid?

Alendronic acid is a drug prescribed to treat osteoporosis in menopause to help slow the acceleration of bone loss. It can prevent hip fractures and help rebuild the bone density in the spinal column if used for a period of time. Alendronic acid is sold under the Fosamax® brand and contains vitamin D to increase the amount of calcium calcium. The drug is also recommended for men with osteoporosis.

In younger people, the bone is constantly disintegrating, but is replaced by new bone growth. After a certain age, it degenerates faster than the body capable of producing new bones. This leads to thin and fragile bones and a higher risk of fractures. Alendronic acid could increase bone density and allow the body to absorb additional calcium to help the construction of a new bone.

During menopause, the female body produces fewer hormones that accelerate bone thinning. This degeneration is usually more pronounced in the first 10 years of the onset of menopause. Doctors usually recommend acidAlendron after a ten -year period to rebuild the bones that became fragile.

FOSAMAX® is collected once a week on the same day of the week with a full glass of water. Patients should not eat or drink anything else for 30 minutes after taking the drug to give the stomach time to absorb drugs. Patients are also recommended to sit or place for half an hour to avert the suffering or heartburn, a common side effect of alendronic acid.

other side effects associated with alondronic acid include flatulence, nausea after eating, flatulence and stomach pain. People who have problems with the esophagus or swallowing should be checked with their doctors before taking this medicine. It is also not recommended for pregnant women or mothers who are breastfeeding.

Some patients who use this medicine complain about headaches or pain of joints, bonesand muscles. Others suffer from congestion seizures or diarrhea, with black stools that have a consistency similar to tar. A red rash of the skin that can itch is another side effect that people use medicines.

The rare state of the jaw could occur in people with cancer or those who do not receive regular teeth care and show bad habits of oral hygiene. Fosamax® manufacturer does not recommend dental extraction or dental surgery in drug use, especially in people who have gum disease. Devic treatment is recommended before the person begins to use alendronic acid.
