What is ammonium lactate?
ammonia lactate is an organic compound used as an active ingredient in certain skin creams and skin creams, usually available only for prescription to treat different skin conditions. Lactic acid is alpha-hydroxy acid and has peeingg or exfoliating effect when applying on the skin. In ammonia lactate, the acidity of lactic acid is reduced by ammonium hydroxide, but the compound is still exfoliating, which contributes to its effectiveness as treatment of scales, dry and reinforced skin. Amonia lactate also has hygroscopic properties, which means that it helps the farthest layer of the skin, the so -called stratum corneum, absorbs moisture when it is applied locally.
