What Is an Ear Syringe?
Ear acupuncture refers to a method of diagnosing and treating diseases by acupuncture with short milli-needle acupuncture or other methods to stimulate auricular points. There is a certain physiological connection between Erguo and various parts of the human body. The shape and color of the ear can help diagnose the disease, and stimulating the acupoints in the ear can prevent the disease. The treatment range is wide, the operation is convenient, and it has certain reference significance for the diagnosis of the disease.

Ear acupuncture point selection principle
- 1. Select points according to the corresponding parts of the disease
- Such as gastric disease, stomach points, appendicitis, appendix points, shoulder pain, shoulder points, sore throat and throat points.
- 2. Select points according to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine
- According to the theory of the Zangfu meridian theory, combining the symptoms of the disease to identify points. Such as tinnitus, choose the kidney point, because "kidney opens the ears to the ear"; eye disease choose the liver point, because "the liver opens the eye to the eye"; insomnia, choose the heart point, because of the "heart master"; "Wait.
- 3. Select points according to modern medical knowledge
- For example, hypertension is selected for the hypotensive ditch, duodenal ulcer is selected for the duodenum, sympathy, arrhythmia is selected for the heart point, menstrual irregularity is selected for the uterine point, and infusion reaction is selected for the adrenal point.
- 4. Select points based on clinical experience
- If the eyes are swollen and painful, choose the tip of the ear, choose the gate of the epilepsy, and the tooth point of the toothache. Selecting acupoints must be refined, and generally 2 to 3 acupoints are appropriate. If there is a disease on one side, take the same side, and if you have bilateral disease or viscera, choose a bilateral acupuncture point.
Ear acupuncture method
- 1. acupuncture
- (1) After the diagnosis of acupoints and disinfection is clear, use the probe or ear acupoint detector to use the measured sensitive points or ear points as acupuncture points. Ear acupuncture must be disinfected strictly before acupuncture, first with iodine, then with alcohol to remove iodine.
- (2) The body position and needle insertion are generally in the sitting position, such as those who are frail, ill, or mentally stressed should be in the lying position. The needles are stainless steel needles with a length of 28 to 30 and a length of 0.3 to 0.5 inches. When the needle is inserted, the left thumb and forefinger are fixed to the ear, and the middle finger supports the back of the acupuncture part, so that the depth of acupuncture can be grasped and the pain of acupuncture can be reduced. Then use your right thumb and forefinger to hold the needle and acupuncture at the stimulation point. Either use the quick insert method or the slow twist insert method. The depth of penetration should be controlled according to the thickness of the patient's ears. Generally, it penetrates into the skin for 2 to 3 minutes, which is based on standing without shaking after reaching the cartilage. After penetrating into the auricular point, if the affected part is strongly sensitive, the symptoms of the patient will be immediately reduced; if there is no local needle feeling, the direction, depth and angle of the needle need to be adjusted. The stimulus intensity and technique are comprehensively considered according to the disease condition, physical fitness, syndrome type, and tolerance level.
- (3) The time for needle retention and needle removal is generally 15 to 30 minutes. The time for needle retention for chronic and painful diseases is appropriately extended. Children and the elderly should not stay more. In order to improve the curative effect, the needle can be moved every 10 minutes. When the needle is released after treatment, the doctor supports the ear with his left hand, and quickly pulls out the millet needle vertically with his right hand, and then compresses the needle hole with a dry cotton ball to prevent bleeding.
- 2. Buried needle method
- It is a method of burying an intradermal needle into an auricular point to treat diseases. It is suitable for chronic and painful diseases, and has the purposes of continuous stimulation, consolidation of curative effects and prevention of recurrence. When using this method, the conventionally sterilized ears are fixed in the left hand, the needle handle of the intradermal needle is clamped with tweezers in the right hand, and the selected acupoint is gently pierced, and then fixed with adhesive tape. The affected side ear is usually buried, and if necessary, both ears are buried. Press the needle 3 times a day for 3 to 5 days each time. 5 times is a course of treatment.
- 3. Electroacupuncture
- It is a therapy combined with milli-needle and pulse current stimulation. Clinically, it is more suitable for the syndromes of nervous system diseases, visceral spasms and asthma. After acupuncture is obtained, connect the two output wires on the electric needle machine. The knob of the acupuncture device should be rotated slowly and gradually adjusted to the required stimulus amount. Do not suddenly increase the stimulus to prevent accidents.
- 4. Pill pressing method
- That is, a simple method of applying pressure pills to the surface of the ear points instead of the buried needle. This method can continuously stimulate acupoints, is safe and painless, and has no side effects. It is currently widely used in clinical practice.
- The materials selected for the pelleting are taken locally, such as Wang Buling Seeds, Rapeseed, Mung Bean, Millet, White Mustard Seeds, etc. Wang Buling Seeds are now used clinically because of their smooth surface, suitable size and hardness. Wash it with boiling water for 2 minutes before application, and dry it for bottling.
- At the time of application, the Wang Buliu seeds were attached to the center of the 0.6cm × 0.6cm adhesive tape, and tweezers were applied to the auricles. Press it 3 to 5 times a day by yourself, each time pressing for 30 to 60 seconds, and replace it once every 3 to 7 days, alternately with both ears. The intensity of the stimulus depends on the patient's condition. Generally, children, pregnant women, the elderly and the infirm, and the neurasthenia should use the light stimulation method, and the acute pain condition should use the strong stimulation method.
- 5. Acupoint injection
- A small amount of medicine is injected into the auricular point, and the stimulation of the acupuncture point and the pharmacological effect of the drug are used to coordinately adjust the body function to promote the recovery of the disease and achieve the purpose of preventing and curing the disease.
- Generally use a 1ml syringe and 6½ needles, draw the selected drug according to the condition, fix the ear with the left hand, and pierce the subcutaneous or subcutaneous skin of the auricle with the right hand. Use a conventional skin test to slowly push 0.1 to 0.3 ml of the drug to make the skin small. Piqiu, Guo Guo have swelling, redness, heat and other reactions. After the injection is completed, gently compress the pinhole with a sterile dry cotton ball. Once every other day.

Ear acupuncture precautions
- 1. Strict disinfection to prevent infection
- Because the ears are outside, the surface is uneven, and the structure is special. The needle must be sterilized before acupuncture. Needles must be sterilized on the injured surface and inflammatory areas. 2.5% iodine should be applied in time if the pinholes become red and swollen after acupuncture to prevent suppurative chondritis happened.
- 2. For sprains and people with movement disorders
- Appropriate activities should be taken after the needle is injected, which is conducive to improving the curative effect.
- 3. The needle should be banned for pregnant women who have habitual abortion.
- 4. People with severe organic disease and high anemia
- Acupuncture should not be used, and strong stimulation should not be performed on patients with severe heart disease and hypertension.
- 5. Ear acupuncture treatment should pay attention to prevent the occurrence of halo acupuncture, if it occurs, it should be treated in time.
