What Is an Electrosurgery Unit?
Electrosurgery is a surgical treatment performed by the coagulation and cauterization of high-frequency currents. The general effect on the skin is to conduct heat to the tissue, or to generate a thermal response in the tissue through electrical current. The electrosurgical methods commonly used in skin surgery are electrocoagulation and electric cutting, which are the same as those used in general surgery. Electrocautery, electric drying, and electrocautery can be used in combination with other treatment methods in dermatology.
