What is Ciclopirox shampoo?

Ciclopirox Shampoo is a type of medicated shampoo that contains a synthetic drug Ciklopirox olamine as an active ingredient. It is primarily used to treat the condition of the skin called seborrorrorheic dermatitis, which often occurs on the head area and seems very similar to lupine. Dermatologists sometimes recommend shampoo for patients suffering from dandruff because there are some claims that lupine may be a milder type of seborrheic dermatitis. Shampoo seems colorless and is often available through a prescription. The main cause is considered to be a fungus of "malassezia" and its interaction with overproduced sebum on the skin. In addition to scaling and peeling, the skin can also experience redness, itching and sometimes hair loss if the condition occurs on the scalp. Seborrheic dermatitis is also gravity and can be deteriorated when the patient is stressed, tired or in severe weather.

Ciclopirox Shampoo is an effective treatmentDermatitis, because ciklopirox olamine is an antifungal agent, which prevents molds from mumolnation. Some tests have shown that the drug inhibits the function of some vital enzymes present in the mushrooms of malassezia and therefore stops the process of spreading and reduces skin inflammation. In addition, it can also prevent mushrooms from repair. In a blind test study, patients were accidentally administered with or without ciklopirox and were instructed to use it for four weeks. The test results revealed that 93% of patients using Ciclopirox shampoo have improved significant, while only 41% of patients using placebo shampoos have improved.

Despite the effectiveness of Ciclopirox Shampoo, patients can still experience some side effects such as stinging, redness and slight rashes that may gradually decrease after the skin adapts to the drug. The recommended dose of ciklopirox is about one to two teaspoons depending on the length of the hair. Shampoo should sit on the scalp of someOlik minutes before it is rinsed to allow the skin to absorb the medicine. It is not recommended that the shampoo is used daily, but rather used every three about days. Patients are also recommended that their dermatologists are signed up if there are no signs of improvement after four weeks of treatment.

children aged 10 years or less must not use Ciclopirox shampoo, as the drug can be particularly irritating to their sensitive skin. Patients should also inform their physicians if they are pregnant or breastfeeding, as the drug may pose certain risks to the patient and the child. If the patient feels breathing problems, swollen mouth or face or outbreak of hives, it may have an allergic reaction and should have immediate medical attention.
