Laser ablation
Right!
- Laser ablation is a method for analyzing solid samples in an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry [icP-MS] combined instrument.
- The solid sample is made into a sheet and placed on a sample stage, and the laser beam is focused on the sample surface. Using a ruby laser for a laser bombardment can create a deep pit with a small diameter in the sample. The sample is consumed to allow the plasma to flow through the surface of the sample, and then a plasma torch is introduced through a conduit. The laser used in the laser shirt is a high-power, highly repetitive laser with large area sampling. In this way, the sampling uniformity is good, and it is not limited by the sample type. Laser ablation mass spectrometry can be used to analyze small areas of the sample. [1]
