What is nystatin?

nystatin is an antifungal cure that is effective in the treatment of a number of different fungal infections caused by Candida fungi. Medicines are supplied in liquid, tablet, paste and topical form, and the physician can determine the type and amount of dosage based on the patient's specific condition. Since Nystatin focuses on fungal spores in the body and leaves a healthy tissue itself, it is generally considered to be very safe treatment options. If there are side effects such as nausea and stomach pain, they are usually mild and last only a few hours at a time. It is important that patients follow the instructions of doctors and complete their treatment to achieve the best results.

Antimycotic drugs such as nystatin are eroded by membranes that surround fungal cells. The drug is bound to the chemical in the membrane called ergosterol, which helps maintain the structure of the cell and holds nutrients. Nystatin causes weakening of ergosterol and separated from the cell. Developed cells are then left susceptible to the loss of nutrients and attackthe cakes of the body's immune system.

nystatin is very strong to the extended family of fungi called Candida. Candida can cause vaginal infections of yeast, mouth ulcers, gastrointestinal infections and painful skin rashes. Depending on the location and severity of the Candida focus, the doctor may decide to prescribe current ointments or oral solutions. Local creams are commonly administered in the case of yeast infections and localized skin rashes, while pastinga is the preferred treatment of ulcers in the mouth. Patients who have throat infections or digestive tracts are usually prescribed tablets or liquid drugs.

The standard dose for adults for liquid nystatin is six milliliters to be used four times a day, even if the physician may adjust the amount of dosage to the patient based on the patient. One or two lozenges can be used and day, and most dermatologists indicate that local creams are boundThey are twice a day. In order to ensure that fungal infections are completely resolved, the treatment should continue for at least 48 hours after the disappearance of the symptoms.

oral nystatin products may cause diarrhea, nausea, stomach and stomach bloating and flatulence shortly after the dose. Local ointment is less likely to cause digestive problems, but can temporarily cause the skin around itching or burning infection. Symptoms of allergic reaction include hives, swelling of the neck, increased heart rate and breathing problems. Any side effects should be assessed by a doctor to avoid health problems. Most people are able to use nystatin without complications and see the results in just a week.
