What Is Prazosin?
Prazosin can block the sympathetic nerve's innervation of vascular smooth muscle, expand peripheral resistance vessels and volume vessels, reduce peripheral vascular resistance, and lower blood pressure. This product can still dilate the coronary arteries, reduce the pre- and post-load of the heart, reduce myocardial oxygen consumption, and improve myocardial function, but the cardiac output is slightly increased or unchanged. It sometimes even decreased without any significant effect on renal blood flow and tubular filtration rate. Effective after 0.5 to 2 hours after taking this product, the effect can be maintained for 6 to 10 hours. The antihypertensive effect is unbalanced with the plasma drug concentration.

The dose should be reduced when the renal function of the elderly is reduced. The dosage must be individualized, and blood pressure changes should be observed during the medication to reduce the blood pressure response. This medicine should be taken under the guidance of a physician. The first dose is 0.5mg. If there are no adverse reactions, the dose can be gradually increased.
