What is the treatment of renal cysts?
Renal cysts are usually bags filled with liquid that develops in one or both kidneys. This may be due to disease processes such as polycystic kidney disease, although there is no reason to produce these cysts in some patients. These renal cysts are often referred to as simple cysts because they do not pose any cancer risks and are usually not medically dangerous. Occasionally, complex renal cysts may develop, which requires further monitoring. The possibilities of treatment of cysts in the kidneys range from medical monitoring to surgery.
Most renal cysts are small and do not cause any problems. In some cases, the cysts may be relatively large and begin to push against the surrounding tissues, causing pain and tenderness. If the cyst escapes or bursts, the patient may experience increased pain or even notice blood in the urine.
If renal cysts do not cause any symptoms of harassment, treatment may consist of periodic medical monitoring. Tests, JAKOs are scanning CT or ultrasounds can occasionally be used to monitor the growth of cysts. If symptoms begin to occur or if the cysts increase, medical intervention may be necessary.
The procedure known as aspiration and sclerosis is often used to treat renal cysts. It is a minimally invasive surgery and usually includes only overnight stays. The patient is completely soothed by general anesthesia and the cyst is inserted a needle to draw the fluid, and the cyst is surgically reduced. It is important to note that the cyst can eventually be filled with fluid, but pain relief may take several months or years.
The treatment of renal cysts may sometimes need a procedure known as laparoscopic decortication of the cyst. This type of surgery is used primarily when aspirations and sclerosis fail. In this procedure, several small cuts are full of gas in the abdominal wall. Cyst wallsY is then cut so that the cyst is completely removed and cannot be formed again.
Complex renal cysts may contain other materials in addition to the liquid found in simple cysts. These cysts may require additional treatment methods. Fortunately, many people are able to live a full and active life with only one healthy kidney.
