The other is a purified protein derivative (PPD), which is a purified product of OT after trichloroacetic acid precipitation.

There are two types of PPD, PPDC and BCGPPD. The former is extracted from human tuberculosis [1] and the latter is made from BCG vaccine, containing 5 units per 0.1ml.
