How are the pocket door installed?

once a common feature in many homes, pocket doors all disappeared in the middle of the 20th century. However, the pocket door will return. These interesting interior doors are more often replaced by rocking doors in newly designed homes. Pocket doors are also included in a series of reconstructions of older houses. There are several basic steps to install pocket doors in a new construction and as part of the renovation.

When using a pocket door with a new home, the installation process is relatively easy. Since the door framing will be already open, the first step will be the hole for the door pocket. Keep in mind that the opening will have to be large enough to suit the width of two doors. This is because framing must be able to manage sliding doors in closed and open positions. The sets that come with the pocket doors will usually include the frame opening dimensions that are suitable for a set of folding doors to be installed. If no dimensions are listed, useFormula double door width plus one additional inch. Be sure to frame the upper part of the door opening in the framing process and make sure the framing is at the level.

Further install the headers and tracks. This will usually include component cutting to fit. Hacksava usually makes a trick without any problems. Ensure the header and the tracks are cut to fit, use the holders in the set to install two components. Once in place, attach two sets of reinforcements. One set will be attached to the header, intoinating to ensure the installation level and then attached to the door. The second set will be connected along the center of the pocket framing. Once the reinforcements are in place, install the bumper of the door near the back of the pocket.

Slip into your pocket before mounting the door and make sure any cosmetic touches are completed. This means dyeing or painting a pocket door. It isImportant, because one of the process will be extremely difficult as soon as the door is in place. Keep in mind that the finishing of the door on all surfaces, including the edges, will help prevent the doors of pockets from the absorption of moisture and deformation over time. Once the door is ready, mount the door on the top of the door and insert the towers on the track. Hang one door at the same time and insert the door into your pocket before moving to the other door.

After installing the door pockets, use the water guide in the mouth of the pocket to make sure the door is centered in space, and slightly slip without rubbing or damaging each other. At this point it is possible to start finishing the wall and painting door covers.

In older homes, the installation of the pocket door will replace the internal doors. Before starting any construction, it is important to make sure that there is enough space in the wall that opens the door to accommodate the door and that there is no cabling, plumbing or beams thatIt will be necessary to move. After handling any basic design and relocation of pipes or wires, the process of installing a pocket door in the older house will follow the same basic process.
