What is the Korean lilac?

Korean lila ( Syringa meyeri var. Korean shrubs grow from four to eight feet (1.2 to 2.4 m) high, with a spread of six to 12 feet (1.8 to 3.7 m).

Korean lilac should be planted ideally in mid -May to early June. It is easily grown in average, well -drained soil and prefers slightly acidic soil to slightly alkaline. The Korean lilac requires four to six hours of sunlight a day, but the more the sun gets, the better it will bloom. Individual plants should be planted ten to 15 feet (3 to 4.6 m) apart. They can be grown from root cutouts or seeds.

Koran Lilac slowly grows but blooms at a young age. The plant will bloom at the end of April to the beginning of May and its flowers are purple for the lavender pink with a pleasant, sweet aroma. Although the flowers are gone, the shrub is still attractive because it develops clearly in the autumnyellow leaves. In other seasons, the leaves are dark green.

Korean lilac should be cut immediately after flowering to support better flowering in the following year. The flowers are beautiful and fragrant when they are freshly cut and great for placing in the house in a vase. Essential oil can also be extract from flower for use in perfumes or aromatherapy.

Korean lilac is a good plant race for a novice gardener because it is easier to grow and maintain than other types of lilac. It is not picky about the soil and is resistant to mold, insects and diseases. It is a very tolerant urban and can withstand heat and drought well. However, flower buds are susceptible to freezing injury in the spring and the plant will not grow poorly poorly drawn soil.
