How can I repair the toilet descriptor?
If you have insulated the problem with a broken toilet to be a problem with the toilet handle that includes a flushing rod inside the tank, then the best bet when it comes to repairing the problem is to replace the toilet handle with a new one. However, other parts of the flushing mechanism could be to blame. The string inside the tank could relax or could be corroded and broken. If you have insulated the problem to be specific to the handle, its replacement should help ensure permanent repair.
Before starting, you will need a replacement toilet handle, adjustable key and screwdriver. All these items can be obtained in a local hardware store. Although it is not necessary, you can turn off the water source using the toilet valve. This prevents the tank to be replenished during repair.
First remove the toilet tank cover. Inside the tank you will see that the toilet handle is attached to a long metal or plastic flushing genus. The string is connected to the end of the rod that you have to relax.
Use the key and screwdriver to remove the lock nut attached to the toilet tank. The nut is on the inside of the toilet tank. Pull out the old handle. Litky to the toilet of the handle are reverse heads, which means that the matrix is released by moving clockwise. This is opposite the way most nuts are each other.
Insert the new handle. Make sure the rubber pad is on the inside of the toilet tank to avoid leakage. Replace the lock nut and tighten. Be careful, however, not to detect the nut too much, as this can cause the toilet tank to burst.
Make sure the flushing rod can move to the toilet tank without hitting another toilet part, such as a ball or flush valve. If the flushing rod is your new metal handle, you can bend it slightly to avoid any obstacles.
Next re -attach the string to flush by glue the end of the hook over one of the holes in the rod. The new handle is best to work when there is only a small amount in the chain. If you find that there is too much relaxation, separate the hook from the end of the string and attach it to one of the other string links. Attach the hook to the flushing rod.
If you have shut down the water to the toilet, turn it back and allow the tank to be filled. Try a new handle. The toilet should now flush. Replace the lid of the toilet tank and you will be good to "go".
