What are Mothballs?
Mothballs are small balls made of chemicals that repel moths. They are used to prevent moth chewing on clothing and other things placed in the repository, ensuring that these items are in good shape when someone is ready to use them. Many hardware stores sell Mothballs as well as some department stores and home stores. Mothballs should be stored in a closed container at all times, as they can be dangerous for human health. In all cases, these chemicals give a very significant strong odor because they sublimate from solid to gaseous condition. The gas kills moths and their larvae and ensures that they do not collide objects in the warehouse. Studies on Mothball suggest that they can be carcinogenic, so people should be careful around them. This is also safer for humans and animals in the same house because they will not be exposed to gas. When someone wants to use something that was in storage space, it should be broadcast for one day to wear or use, andwould allow the gas to be distracted. This will also help reduce the sharp odor associated with Mothballs.
As an alternative to Mothballs, some people prefer to use Cedar. Cedar, balls and shavings blocks can be used in almost the same way as Mothballs, except that Cedar is not dangerous. To make the Cedar most effective, a closed container is again required, but no broadcasting is required before use, and some people really enjoy the distinctive scent of cedar on their clothes, blankets and other things.
Because Mothballs are so closely associated with putting things into the storage, the term "Mothball" is also used generally to talk about any extinct project or stored material. For example, the factory can be broadcast when it is no longer in active production, or the project could be broadcast due to lack of interest or financing. In all cases it is assumed that a project, equipment or object can be in BI will restore in the future.
