How can I repair concrete?

Concrete is notorious for cracking. This may be due to a change in weather conditions, shifting the ground or something heavy falling on concrete. Whatever the reason, you have to repair the concrete before the crack spreads. If you want to repair serious damage to the concrete, you will need to remove the damaged section, undermine the edges of the area and fill the hole with a new mixture of cement. Always wear eye protection, because the concrete tends to crumble and small pieces can cut off your eyes, causing permanent damage. It is also recommended to wear gloves to prevent fingers from breaking or cutting hands.

Start repairing the concrete by removing the damaged cement around the crack. Use a hammer and a large chisel to cut off a broken, crumbled and resistant concrete. You should have a somewhat round hole, about a thumb (2.54 cm) deeper, after removing all damaged concrete.

The next step towards repairing concrete includes undercutting the edges of the area you have sewn. This is done by extension of the bottom of the hole but leave the upper partUnfammed. The result will be a hole with the inner walls that come in.

Removing all chipped concrete and residues from the hole is the next step in repairing concrete cracks. It is the easiest to do with an industrial vacuum because you can be sure that you will get all the dust and small pebbles. Moisten the hole with water every few hours throughout the day.

Now it is time to mix concrete in two separate batch. The first dose is mixed a little strong, with a ratio of 3 parts of the cement to 1 part water, so it resembles a paste. Another batch is mixed a little thinner than the first dose, but still strong enough to bother the surfaces. Use a second dose to quickly bother the inner walls of the holes. Now fill in the hole with the first dose of cement.

Allow the cement to dry for several hours. When the time has passed, cover the solid areas with a plastic cover. Using a spray bottle moisten the area severalt daily for one week. After the week you can remove the plastic packaging and the area should be as good as new.

If there are a large number of cracks in the concrete, it may be best to replace the entire concrete mat. You can use a jack hammer to break all the concrete and a wheelchair in a roller wheel. Follow the instructions on the concrete bag for laying a new pad.
