How do I repair plasterboard with water damaged?

The

repair of plasterboard damaged water involves cutting off damaged plasterboard and replacing a new plasterboard. In most cases there is a leak, which must also be repaired, otherwise the whole repair will be futile. Once the damage has been repaired, it will usually need to be grinded and painted to mix with the surroundings. This work does not have to be completed by a professional, but the maintenance player Do-It-Yourmyman will need a variety of tools, materials and safety equipment. The repairer will need a plasterboard and a plasterboard knife to remove the damaged piece of plasterboard. It will also need a new piece of plasterboard, tools for plastering and a joint compound, which is also known as a plasterboard compound and is similar to plaster. Finally, the joint knife is needed to spread the joint compound together with the joint tape and sandpaper. For maximum safety in repairing water damage to drywall, it is best to wear safety glasses, heavy gloves and mask that covers the mouth.

As soon as all tools are collected, the repairman should remove the damaged piece of plasterboard with a saw and knife. The nails should be removed to pull the piece without a wall or ceiling. Then a new piece of plasterboard can be secured on site and the joints can be sealed with a joint compound using a joint knife. The joint tape is applied to the joint compound, then more joint compounds are layered over the tape. At this point, the joint compound should be left to dry completely.

In order to continue, the articulated compound should be heavy and it would not be possible. If the compound has stiffened, it is time to apply more joints to the entire patch to equalize it. Thin coats should be applied, left to dry completely, and then apply again until the area is on the level of the surrounding wall. It may not be quite smooth, because the excess can be grinded later. The main focus should be on the vYet the patch to flush with the surrounding wall or ceiling.

As soon as the house gets rid of the plasterboard of damaged water and the new patch is completely dry, the area can be ground to smooth it. Grinding can be done by hand or electric grinder. Upon completion of grinding, the area can be prepared and painted to match the rest of the wall or ceiling.
