How does dry cleaning work?

Scolé clearing is a happy result of random escape. Jean Baptiste Jolly owned a large -scale coloring society in the mid -19th century. One night in 1855 his maid accidentally overturned his kerosene lamp on a stained tablecloth. The following morning he realized that the tablecloth was clean and Jolly quickly decided to make money from the concept.

Within his company Jolly, he began to offer cleaning services he named Cecting. It was not because the clothes that cleaned were never soaked, but rather because they had never fooled water. Early cleaning agents included some relatively toxic substances and could be quite dangerous.

For example, Jolly used gasoline and kerosene to clean clothing. Later, solvents were used as trichlorethylene and carbon tetrachloride and could also have nasty side effects. Since the 1950s, the most commonly used solvent has been a cleaning cleaning cleaner Perchlorethylene, as well as perc.

method modERN Specing Cleaning Works is that clothing is first marked and pre -treated for any visible stains. They are then placed in a large machine, rather like a big washing machine. Clothing spins in a machine, which also serves up to 200 gallons (757.08 liters) perc in just eight minutes, typical cycle length. Another machine cycle releases Perc and turns clothes.

Most machines also have a heating element, so they are basically combined with washing machine and dryer. After the perc is siphone, the clothing warms up with the circulating warm air, so they are dried. After removal from the machine, the clothing passes after treatment of the stain.

In chemical cleaning, a good cleaner knows to check the clothes for the remaining stains. They will be treated with a solvent or even water. The service can also make a slightly repair of clothing, replacement of buttons or sewing up small cracks. Clothing is then hung on hangers and wrappedPlastic, waiting to pick up from its owners.

Concerns in recent years about Perc, which is not environmentally friendly, has led to new "green" cleaning methods. Instead of Perc, some green cleaners turned into solvents made of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide can only be in liquid form when exposed to pressure, so the machine must be able to provide a pressure environment to ensure that carbon dioxide works properly. One type of machine is equipped with a pressure chamber and pressure doors to make it possible to clean the clothes suitably.

Green Chechý cleaning is considered softer on clothing and is also more healthier ecological. With greater interest in environmental cleaning, the green methods can eventually replace Perc.
