What are coaching screws?

Coach screws are heavy screws designed for metal and wood connection or for connection of heavy beams. Also known as lag screws or delayed screws, have a square or hexagonal head created for use with a key, key or pliers. These screws come in a wide range of sizes, from very small filled furniture designed to assemble consumer to extremely large, which are used in large construction projects.

The coach bolts consist of an external threaded cylindrical shaft that narrows to the point, with the head at the other end. When they are driven into wood, the fibers bit the wood while the head stops the screw to walk all the way because it provides compression. The basic form of the screw has existed for more than 2,000 years, although the metal screws for wood construction and processing have been used only since it was possible to stand out in bulk at the end of the 19th century. It was only until the second share war that the size of the screws became standardized,To be easily made and shared between the Allied forces.

These types of screws are often used in critical connections in construction due to their robust production. The screws are often better than nail construction projects in general, as they can be easily removed and reused. For joints that see heavy use and other areas in which further support with metal flanges are needed, coaching screws are preferred.

6 When checking the key size or key, the user should measure along both flat ends, not from point to point. When using these screws for wood connection to wood or in other applications where the screw passes through the wood, it is advisable to use a washing machine with a screw so that the head is not sucked into the wood.
