What are Gaffers?

If you have ever read the final credits of the movie, you may have met such titles as the best boys, gang leaders and gaffers. Believe it or not, these are real jobs. Many of these matt work titles came out of Vogue, but heard back to the beginnings of film production. This is the case of Gaffers, professional electricians primarily responsible for lighting and electrifying the film set. This term is often used interchangeably with the main lighting techniques these days, but tradition is returning to the earliest film studies. To move these mirrors throughout the day, electricians or other crew members were used long poles called gaffs . The real need for reflected sunlight could disappear, but the name remains as an honorary title for experienced chosen chosenricians. Gaffers often cooperates closely with the photograph director to set special lighting effects or supplies electricity for the stage. Must also know which fiUse Ltry for specific effects and how to simulate such conditions as a moving train or flashing marks in the distance. Electricians must also pay close attention to safety measures.

Some do-it-yourselfers may be familiar with the glue called Gaffers tape. This product looks similar to adhesive adhesive tape, but it is not so adhesive. Gaffers actually uses this tape to bind cable wires together or connect luminaires to other surfaces. Since the film and television files are designed to be temporary, less adhesive tape quality allows electricians to remove settings without significant residues.

Gafers often works from the basic electrician to the best boy , the name of the film industry for the main assistant Gaffer. Some people can be hired by a film company as electricians but do not necessarily have a conCrete training in this area. The basic set of electricians can only be required to move electrical cables from the path of an operator of the camera or switch according to allusions from the lighting director. Gaffers, on the other hand, usually have extensive electric training and a strong interest in the artistic side of the film.
